Balancing Shifts, Charts, and Deadlines: This Refreshing Thought Will Leave You Feeling Calm, Motivated, and In-Control.
This month I wanted to share a short (20 minute) podcast that left me with a profound sense of calm. This podcast is based on a chapter from a book titled, “Four Thousand Weeks” by Oliver Burkeman. Life is incredibly short (on average, approximately 4,000 weeks) and this book investigates deep thoughts on how we can use our time meaningfully. Specifically, the insight that the little things in life might matter more to us than we may have originally thought. Life isn’t a resume of a few bullet points of your successes or achievements, but rather a book with hundreds of pages filled with lush imagery of your failures, moments, successes, memories, and people — everyone that mattered to you. I bought the book since listening to this podcast, and it is quite different than anything I have ever read before. If you have a minute on the way to work, give it a listen - I hope you enjoy!
