Becoming A Physician is Tough
The journey to become an Emergency Medicine physician brings years of failures, successes, and “Ah-ha!” learning moments. I created this page to share what I’ve learned, notes, resources, book summaries, and creative projects.
“Show Your Work”
I recently read the book “Show Your Work” by Austin Kleon. I learned that the more we share these moments with others, the more we help others learn, and the more we connect ourselves to others who share similar interests.
Creating & Sharing Work
I could try to rationalize creating this website from a business or career perspective, or say that writing keeps my mind sharp, or say that I think the world is better when there are more ideas in it.
But the main truth is that it just charges me up. It gets me going.
I like to think that someone might stumble across this collection of ideas and find a few things that help. That possibility is tremendously motivating for me. So while creating this website might take me away from other activities for a bit, it makes me happier and more satisfied with my life. This energy metric helps make my choices easier.

Emergency Medicine, Design, and Technology.
The core of my creative interests include working at the intersection of Emergency Medicine, Education and Wellness, and Tech/Design.
Combining them has been an exciting challenge. I enjoy designing and building digital tools (Apps, E-Books, Notion templates, etc) that contribute to these each of these. Everything I share here is available for free.

Under the “Books” tab, you’ll find illustrated summaries of my notes/highlights from my favorite books related to education, wellness, and self-improvement.

A Career in Medicine is Busy.
It’s hard to find time to read self-improvement books and apply what we learn. As I read, I’ll extract my favorite highlights and connections to medicine, and do my best to share them in brief, easy-to-read visual summaries.
